Job Description
Function:
The agency’s first-line representative of the accounts assigned to him/her
and the first-line representative of these accounts at the agency. S/he is the channel through which the agency works to serve
and develop its clients effectively and profitably. The AE’s authority extends to all agency staff personnel with respect
to making, detailing, and scheduling work assignments for which s/he is responsible.
Responsibilities:
Internal
•
Responsible for organizing and maintaining all necessary records on the account either on his own or with the help of an AAE.
Specifically, such records should include: Product and Category Marketing Facts Competitive Copy and
Media Records Budgets and Estimates Pertinent Historical Data Schedule and Flow Charts •
Responsible for the day-to-day mechanics of the account. • Assist in management of TV, Radio, Print, and Interactive
production • Participates in the development and evaluation of all agency recommendations prior to client presentation.
In particular, makes sure that all available data, including pertinent consumer or market research findings, are considered
in preparing such recommendations. • Is knowledgeable at all times about the status of all projects of interest within
the agency and takes every effort to ensure that work is done effectively and on time. Keeps Account Supervisor informed as
to status of projects and alert to any possible problems that could arise. Responsible for the preparation of written bi-monthly
status reports on his/her account for submission to agency management. • Works closely with creative group –
obtains and maintains their trust. Keeps them informed as to any changes in client/competitive climate and review and evaluates
final creative executions vis-à-vis strategy for Account Supervisor approval. • Initials, subject to the Account
Supervisor’s approval, necessary Expense Authorization Requests and maintains appropriate records thereof. •
Reviews in advance and submits to client all invoices once they are believed to be correct.
Agency Service
•
Communicates daily with the client, either in person or by telephone. Keeps the client informed on the progress of all work
for which s/he is responsible. • Obtains client approvals in advance of initiating projects, including identification
of target dates and budgets available. • Works with the client in the preparation of advertising and marketing plans.
With Account Supervisor, is responsible for the agency’s input in all areas. • Maintains a thorough, sensitive
and accurate liaison with the client, so that s/he is able to keep the agency informed of client’s problems and objectives. •
Develops good relationships with client opposites and internally with agency associates.
Others
• Helps
to prepare and attends sales meetings: Nielsen and SAMI presentations, etc. • Makes field trips as warranted to retail
outlets, trade shows, etc. • Supervises any Assistants assigned to him/her, with attention to their needs to both
learn and grow in experience and value.
